THE LOOKS OF TIME

It's nice to remember friends and family even when you don't see their faces. My friend Celia was in Ghana for a couple of years and I never knew she was such a good photographer till she told me she wanted to use my work space for a photo contest. I was thrilled but we never got round to doing it. Better still we did get to take some awesome clear pictures of the pieces I had in the shop just before she left back to France for good. I have a folder of pictures which I have named after her and this wine piece brings back memories of the afternoon in front of the shop juggling around a white backdrop and hoping the sun stayed out for our lighting.

Looking through my stuff I found some old pictures of my friends who modeled for me when I just started making accessories. We would get together on Saturdays and I will have some juice and biscuits for us to nibble and pose for the camera. My dear friend and now one of Ghana's top music director, photographer and producer director, Nana Asihene took these shots just when he started playing with the camera. I like the idea that we worked together even when we knew very little but still very talented.

SEE WHO GRABS THE FIRST SLICE!

After a hard day's work, we met up to chill out a bit and enjoy some lovely pizza. See how hungry we were and who makes the first move. We had a fun time and I did meet some lovely people. We are scheduled to meet up again. "Work hard, play hard!"

DIY BEADED TOPS

Picked out a dark green top I had been hoarding for no reason and the weather has gone funny on the top bit that I had to think fast to cover up the tiny holes. I got my needle and thread and got to work with lime green beads and Voila! this is what we have. A beaded top sophisticated enough for a night out. We will be sharing more DIY tips, so don't get rid of too many of your old stuff especially your favourite ones.

MEMORIES OF 2012

The best part of 2012 was spent with H.I.M.M's, a group of lovely hardworking women entrepreneurs Franka, Mabel, Pokuaa and Naa. They made it happen and we all had a great time inspiring each other and collaborating in ways that as individuals we never thought of. We found out that working together makes it better in so many ways and brings about healthy competition plus we learn more to build up better businesses.

Here are lots of pictures to enjoy from our events held at Franka's lovely coffee shop in Airport residential area in Accra. Going to Cuppa Cappuccino is a must no matter what, they've got the best iced tea and smoothies.

Our events started with Christmas in November, and ended with HIMM's gifts for Christmas. It was lovely seeing our favourite clients and meeting new ones. The highlight of the night was the cocktail topped with a yummy trifle, courtesy Franka.

 Hatsoff with a client. Dedication.
 Festive green spiral statement piece.
Lilac braided seed bead, Krobo bead  and  brass cone.
Winding down the day with a sip and chat.
An evening with our best friends having a round table discussion, about ... maybe the trifle?
 Coral and crystal charm necklace.
Kwaku David captured the moment with the best shots at the grand opening of Mardi Gras the bake shop next to Cuppa Cappuccino and the beginning of H.I.M.M's.
Show off anklets and spikey blue suede shoes. Would love them in red too.
